patio decor

We are trying to spruce up our Oklahoma City Patio Furniture this spring. We have considered various types of Artificial Trees, but have decided that live plants will be much more authentic. What sort of plants would you all suggest for our region? What works good in full sunlight? Any tip… Continue

Asian Greens and Little Gem

The Mesclun Asian Greens are growing nicely in the greenhouse as you can see in the picture. I haven't discovered which one is Tatsoi, but I hope it is represented in the seedlings, or I will sow some more. The Little Gem Romaine is beautiful, and I picked some and headed over to the neighbors with an early morning offering.

Winter Deals

Winter is a great time to find bargains on plant pots and other plant containers. I love searching for bargains and one of the best ways to do that in my experience is to buy during the off season. Make sure you check Craig's list for people clearing out their garages (especially during winter) or search for online sites… Continue

I had saved the newsletter and later re-read it, and then watched as Symba tried to eat the plastic pine needles on a Christmas garland decoration. The temperature in late December here in the Mojave Desert, just outside of Las Vegas, NV is 35° at night and 55° during the day . I planted t… Continue

Container gardening

Hello: I am a container garden designer in San Francisco. I would like to communicate with everyone who could give me some advice about how to build my business. So far I have had some success with Craigslist. I am very good at the artistic side of the business but always have difficulty with the business aspect. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. THanks, Leslie

We would recommend that you avoid planting anything in the tomato family, including other varieties of tomatoes as well as potatoes, peppers and eggplants. There are some varieties that have disease resistance but it's always a good idea to rotate c…

Like many last year, I had some kind of blight attack my tomatoes.  I've been reading that you shouldn't plant tomatoes again the next season in that bed.  Any suggestions what else to plant there that will tolerate any lingering fungus?
